Old Westbury offers the following:
- M.S. in Accounting: offered in a traditional classroom, the program prepares its graduates to lead in a financial world constantly impacted by the need for skilled professionals in assurance services, consulting services, financial planning, and the globalization of markets.
- Online M.S. in Accounting: the same rigorous M.S. in Accounting curriculum available at SUNY Old Westbury since 2004 can now be taken completely online.
- M.S. in Forensic Accounting: provides professionals with the skills and preparation to identify fraud when it occurs, and to inform decision-making processes and develop procedures to protect against it.
- M.S. in Taxation: expands the portfolio of skills of its students beyond financial accounting, preparing them to meet the growing demand of private, public, not-for-profit and government organizations for professionals with up-to-date knowledge of Federal, State, and international taxation issues.
Each program’s objectives go beyond technical training in accounting practices. The Old Westbury faculty encourages students to integrate technical knowledge and analytical skills that can be adapted to the ever-changing global business climate.

New York State Certification
When finished with their studies, graduates of the program will have also satisfied New York State’s 150-credit hour requirement to sit for the certified public accountancy examination.
Teaching the graduate program are accounting professors selected both for their abilities as instructors and professional expertise. Along with having published scholarly papers in leading business periodicals, serving on editorial boards, and serving as consultants to leading organizations worldwide, members of the faculty hold a variety of certifications, including Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Certified Management Accountant (CMA), Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE) and Personal Financial Specialist (PFS).
