School of Business Director Earns SUNY Professional Service Award

Ms. Lorraine Todisco, who serves as Director for Career Services, External Relations and Administration in the School of Business at SUNY Old Westbury has been recognized for her service to the College with a State University of New York Chancellor’s Award for Excellence in Professional Service. 

"The College thanks Ms. Todisco for helping our School of Business and its students prepare for careers in the local community, state, and world," said College President Dr. Calvin O. Butts, III. “She has truly earned this recognition for working above and beyond her role, and we thank her, immensely, for her dedication." 

Todisco, a resident of Glen Cove, New York, has implemented several initiatives to assist business students in succeeding during and after their studies at Old Westbury. Through collaboration with School of Business faculty and staff, Todisco hosts career readiness workshops and information sessions, speaker events, mentorship opportunities and career fairs. Since her arrival in 2013, Todisco has doubled the number of corporations that come to campus to take part in the fairs. 

She also serves as an academic advisor for more than 150 transfer students, is the representative for the School of Business at campus events, and participates on various committees including the Dean's Council, the Food Pantry Committee, the Student Research Day Committee and the Middle States Working Group for Support of the Student Experience.

Previously to joining SUNY Old Westbury, Ms. Todisco worked for Long Island University, New York Institute Of Technology, New York College Of Health Professions, and J. P. Morgan Chase. She has a Master of Arts in Communication Arts from New York Institute of Technology, a Master of Arts in Applied Psychology from Fairfield University, and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Skidmore College.
