President Butts Honored with Former NYC Mayor Bloomberg at Visionary Awards

President Butts receives award from 1010 WINS' Larry Mullins

State University of New York at Old Westbury President Calvin O. Butts, III, was among a select group of leaders named to the inaugural class of “1010 WINS Visionary Award” winners by CBS Radio and New York City radio station WINS-AM.

The awards were presented on October 11 at the 1010 WINS Visionary Awards dinner in Manhattan.

Joining President Butts in the first class of honorees for what will become an annual program were:

  • Michael Bloomberg, Former NYC Mayor and founder, CEO, and owner of Bloomberg L.P. and Bloomberg Philanthropies, inducted for Lifetime Achievement
  • Jane Rosenthal, CEO Founder of Tribeca Productions/Tribeca Enterprises; Tribeca Film Institute/Tribeca Film Festival.
  • Perry Chen:  Principal founder, Kickstarter
  • Marion Johnson: “Hidden Figure” whose work at NASA contributed to America’s successful First Manned Lunar Landing
  • Joseph McNeil: Launched the national sit-in movement in America when he and three others refused to leave the Woolworth’s lunch counter until they were served
  • Michael Dowling: Rose from the depths of poverty in Ireland to become CEO of Northwell Health
  • Melanie Whelan: CEO of SoulCycle

1010 WINS is recognized as America’s most listened to news radio station, with more than 2.1 million listeners.
