Record Enrollment for 2017 Leads to Opening of Parking Field B

Having enrolled a record-breaking class of students for the fall 2017 semester, SUNY Old Westbury announced today the opening of Parking Field B, a new parking area located on the southern end of the College's campus.

The College attracted a freshman class of more than 660 and an overall student population of more than 4,900, both records for the institution. This growth led to a shortage of parking during peak midday hours.

Situated near the Gatehouse/Gate B Entrance to the College from the Long Island Expressway Service Road, Parking Field B will utilize an open field located on the southern end of campus. Parking in this area will operate as follows:

  • Open Mondays-Thursdays, 7 a.m.-6 p.m.
  • Attendants will be on hand to monitor parking and oversee parked vehicles
  • Shuttle Bus service to the NAB and Student Union will be available, with up to four shuttle buses leaving in a rotation.

NOTE:  The last shuttle bus is expected to leave the NAB at 5:45 p.m. each day Field B is open. Parking in Field B is not recommended for students who have classes at 5:30 p.m. and later.

In addition to Parking Field B, the College has created more than 30 other spaces on the former tennis courts adjacent to the Student Union Parking Lot.
