SUNY Old Westbury has been named a “Best Public College in America” by Buffalo Business First, an American City Business Journal publication. The rankings analyzed 499 public universities and colleges that offer the best educational experiences to their students. Old Westbury ranks in the top 25 New York institutions, and 184th overall nationwide.

“At Old Westbury, we are confident that we provide both a quality education and student experience for our campus community, so we’re proud of this recent recognition” said College President Calvin O. Butts, III. “On behalf of the staff and faculty of the College, we will continue our goal of preparing students to take ownership of their future careers and dreams.”

Business First followed a 22-part formula with consideration given to schools with selective admission processes, affordable tuitions and costs, diverse study bodies and faculties, and strong graduation and retention rates. The study is based on the latest data from the National Center for Education Statistics and the U.S. Census Bureau’s American Community Survey.
