Open Advising Hours Set for Transfer and Continuing Students

Open advising days are open to all SUNY Old Westbury Students, specifically, both continuing and new transfer students. Advisors from the below areas are available during the dates and time frames listed. Please note that there are no appointments made on these dates and times.

Open advising for Fall 2019 will occur on:

  • Thursday, August 22, 2019
  • Friday, August 23, 2019

School of Arts and Sciences and School of Education

  • Thursday, August 22:  10:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m.*
  • Friday, August 23: 10:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.*

Students should arrive as early as possible. Please note 6:00 p.m. and 3:00 p.m. are the latest a student can arrive.

New Students

 The Office of First Year Experience will be available by appointment to advise first-time-to-college students who did not attend a New Student Orientation.  Students should contact the Office of First Year Experience directly by calling 516-876-3458. New Students: Please bring the following with you to your advising meeting:

  • An unofficial copy of your transcript that includes courses for which you are currently enrolled
  • An unofficial copy of college transcripts for all college courses you have taken

*Please note that Registrar, Bursar and Financial Aid are open until 6:30 p.m. on 8/22 and 4:00 p.m. on 8/23.
