OWWR, Old Westbury Web Radio, continues its live broadcasting of the "Downtown Sounds 2018," a concert series presented by the Glen Cove Downtown Business Improvement District and the City of Glen Cove.
The July 13 concert will present The Right On Band.
Right On Band is an authentic “Ten-Piece Show Band” with a full horn section. They have performed all over the world including: Italy, Ethiopia, Canada, Mexico, the Dominican Republic, and the Bahamas. They have had the honor of performing for each of the last three United States Presidents, and also entertained the US Congress inside “The White House”, as well as other celebrities, dignitaries and heads of state around the world. The Right On Band is known for their outlandish ’70s costumes. Specializing in Motown, Disco, and ‘70s Funk, the band has been keeping the ‘70s alive for more than 18 years.
All "Downtown Sounds" concerts are on Friday nights during the months of July and August, on the corner of Glen and School Streets in the Village Square, in downtown Glen Cove. Those that wish to attend are encouraged to bring their own lawn chairs. In the event of inclement weather, all shows will be held at the Wunsch Arts Center, Robert M. Finley Middle School, 1 Forest Avenue, Glen Cove, NY.
SUNY Old Westbury students execute updates live on location.
