Intern & Peer Educators

Want to gain skills and learn about time management, leadership, public speaking, mental health, and body image? How about offer peer support, coordinate social and recreational events, conduct outreach, workshops, tabling and educational sessions or offer a safe space for student? If you are interested in any of those and much more, the Peer Education Empowerment Program is the place for you!

Mission Statement: The Peer Education Empowerment Program seeks to engage students to take an active role in shaping their own campus experience. The program is committed to promoting the healthy lifestyle choices and educating the campus community about the risks associated with substance use/abuse. The Peer Educators welcome students to join the program, meet new people, and become leaders.

The Peer Educators meet every Thursday during Common Hour (2:30pm – 3:30pm) in the Student Union Room 312. If you are interested, join us during a meeting or contact Blanca Schneider at schneiderb@oldwestbury.edu or stop by the Dean’s Suite in the Student Union Room 303-I.

The Peer Education Empowerment Program hosts different events every month. Here are a list of upcoming event dates and times:

  • 11/20/18 Red Watch Band and Intro to CPR Training 7pm – 9pm MPR C
  • 12/4/18 Hawaiian Tropics “Dry Happy Hour” 7pm – 9pm MPR C
