Fall 2021 Housing Requirement - COVID-19 Vaccination

As announced by the College on July 21, 2021, all students who elect to live in housing offered by SUNY Old Westbury during the Fall 2021semester are required to be vaccinated against COVID-19.

Exemptions from this requirement for medical or religious reasons will be considered. Please visit the College’s COVID-19 Immunization Compliance webpage for details on how to submit your vaccine information and the exemption process.

Resident students who are vaccinated will not be required to mask or social distance while within the residence halls. Resident students who provide evidence of vaccination will also be excused from weekly COVID-19 testing.

Those resident students who are approved for an exemption will be required to wear masks in public spaces within the halls and to maintain social distancing from others in all public spaces within the halls. 

Withdrawal from the Residence Halls Due to Vaccine Requirement

Students who elect to withdraw their housing request due to this requirement must do so by August 8, 2021.

Withdrawal from housing requires that an email be sent to reslife@oldwestbury.edu requesting housing cancellation and a housing deposit refund and reference to the COVID-19 vaccine requirement.
