2022 Fall Move In

The Office of Residential Life is very excited to welcome our new and returning residential students to campus housing. To ensure an organized and safe process, we will be using STAGGERED MOVE IN over the course to two days--- This allows for better traffic and parking management (which is very limited at the halls), enabling a smooth move in process to student rooms, as well as supporting social distancing.

Please read all the FOLLOWING INFORMATION to be best prepared for your move in day. For these reasons below, we strongly encourage all students to plan accordingly.

STEP 1- Prior to Your Arrival

1. Please have your picture ID (SUNY OW ID, drivers license, passport, etc)  and assignment confirmation with you at the move in time.
2. Submit your proof of COVID-19^ vaccination electronically to Student Health Services by Mon, August 15, 2022 by 4pm.  Deadline to have a Fall 2022 religious or medical exemption request considered: Mon, August 15, 2022 by 4pm
3. Be registered for 12 credits or more to qualify as a full-time status student
4. FA 22 Bills are due to the Bursar by Tues, Aug 23, 2022 by 4:30pm.  2/3 Month Payment Plans are available, $25 Enrollment fee.
5. Clear account holds. Be sure to address and clear any holds that you may have on your account as soon as possible.
   • To view your holds, log into the campus portal, click registration, and click view holds. Any holds must be cleared with the department or individual who issued the hold.
6. We strongly encourage families to bring only the necessary items for move in and to refer to the Prohibited Items List when coming to campus.
7. Please note personal home furniture, full size fridges (above 3.4cubic feet), microwaves are not permitted in the halls.  See our

^COVID Measures for Move-In

• Submit your proof of COVID-19^ vaccination electronically to Student Health Services by no later than Mon, August 15, 2022 by 4pm
• All residents must be vaccinated and cleared to move in .  Please refer to the Fall 2022 COVID-19 Guidance for the most current information.  
• Only one family member who is wearing a masks shall be permitted to enter the hall to assist with the move in.
• We ask that you maintain social distancing 6-ft apart whenever possible.
• Families trying to move in outside of their designated move in times days and/or times will be required to wait and should anticipate a longer move in process.

STEP 2 - Arriving on Campus- Clearance at Campus Center

• Staff and volunteers will be available to assist students. 
• Students who cannot move in on their assigned day are encouraged to move in the following day.  Early Arrival Will Not Be Approved. 
• All vehicles must enter and exit campus during move-in weekend at Gate A (Route 106/107).  Gates B & C will be closed.  
  •  Address for Directions to Gate A Route 106/107 Main Entrance: 99 Cedar Swamp Rd, Glen Head, NY 11545
• Once on campus follow signs for the Campus Center and check in (stay in the left lane).
• Once you arrive at the lower level of Campus Center to the right to enter the curbside check-in.
• Please have picture ID (SUNY OW ID, drivers license, passport, etc)  with you. 
• Staff will be available to assist with processing your housing clearance. Students with any clearance issues will be asked to park in the Campus Center parking lot until their statuses are resolved.
• If you arrive outside of your scheduled time, you may wait in the Campus Center parking.

• Once you have cleared at the Campus Center, you will be directed to the residence hall you should go to collect your key at our curbside check-in station at the Campus Center you will then be able to go to your hall to complete the move in process. 

STEP 3 - At The Halls

• Staff and University Police will be helping to direct traffic to the appropriate hall.  
• There is NO PARKING available to residents at the halls.  Student belongings must be dropped off at the curb and cars will be re-directed to park at the main parking lots. There will be limited  unloading time.
• We encourage families to bring additional moving carts or hand trucks to assist with the process.
