The Amelie A. Wallace Gallery announces the opening of exhibit featuring images created by six international artists in reaction to the subject of violence against women. 'Violated Bodies' runs through March 15.
SUNY Old Westbury Adjunct Lecturer of Dance Joya Powell has received the 2016 NY Dance and Performance Award for Outstanding Emerging Choreographer for her inspiring and daring racially-charged work. The Bessie Award committee, who presented the award at the October 18, 2016 ceremony, recognized her for “passionate choreographic engagement with issues of justice and race” and for her ability to deeply connect with audiences.
“Post Script: Photographs by Rachel Boillot” is now open at The Amelie A. Wallace Gallery at SUNY Old Westbury. The exhibition features photographs of closed post offices, and those threatened with closure, and the communities affected by these closures.
