A Message from the Dean

Welcome to one of the most unique and progressive campuses in the SUNY system! As a student at SUNY Old Westbury, you can rest assured the College is committed to enhancing and sustaining a campus climate that will prepare you for active and engaged lives of citizenship and leadership in service to society. While the term "productive citizen" may be a fairly well-worn cliché, our mission at Old Westbury is exactly that - to develop productive citizens who will go forth into the world as ambassadors of not only self-pride and self-respect, but of having prideful respect for others as well.

In that regard Old Westbury takes great pride in being one of the most diverse Colleges in New York State's 64-campus SUNY system. While that diversity is clearly reflected in our student body, what's not spoken about nearly enough is the diverse nature of our Administration, Faculty and Staff. With America quickly heading toward a nation comprised of a majority ethnic-American population, Old Westbury offers a unique glimpse into the future and more importantly, a rare passport for citizenship in tomorrow's world today.
