Association for Computing Machinery Student Chapter: The College's ACM
Chapter regularly participates in regional ACM Programming Contests where Old
Westbury students perform competitively with students from major colleges and
universities throughout the Northeast.
Computer Science Club: The College's computer science club
offers the students a chance to showcase the skills and knowledge they have
learned at
the university. The computer science club has placed very highly in the
competitions they take part in, beating Ivy League schools.
Mathematics/Computer Science Learning Center: Staffed by professional and
peer tutors, the Math/CS Learning Center (MLC) provides free tutoring and support
services to students enrolled in mathematics courses at Old Westbury. The MLC
conducts laboratory sessions for curriculum in introductory algebra (MA0500),
and also houses a library of textbooks, videotapes and educational technology.
