Old Westbury's Chemistry and Physics Department takes a broad approach to science education that stresses the connections between chemistry, biology and physics and their application in the worlds of research, medicine and industry.
Also central to the experience of undergraduate students in this department is the opportunity to participate first-hand in cutting edge research - an opportunity limited to graduate students on most other campuses.
The Chemistry and Physics Department at SUNY College at Old Westbury offers 3 undergraduate degrees:
- B.S. in Chemistry which includes an option whereby students can choose to study towards an extended degree that has received certification from the American Chemical Society.
- B.A. in Chemistry
- B.A. in Biochemistry
The department also offers two graduate degrees:
- M.A.T. in Adolescence Education: Chemistry (7-12)
- M.S. in Adolesence Education: Chemistry (7-12)
