Biological Sciences

Students enrolled in degree programs offered by the Biological Sciences Department enjoy small class sizes, individual attention, and a wide variety of opportunities to gain valuable research experience. The department offers excellent preparation for professional and research careers as well as training for community health workers concerned with the educational needs of the entire Long Island community.

In 2008, the College announced its new accelerated B.S. in Biological Sciences/D.O. in Osteopathic Medicine dual degree program, which is offered in collaboration with the New York College of Osteopathic Medicine.  For more information on the program, visit the Majors & Minors page.

All students within the Biological Sciences program have access to career counseling, tutoring, MCAT, DAT and GRE exam preparation through funding from the U.S. Department of Education, the New York State Education Department and the National Science Foundation. These programs also provide tuition assistance and internship opportunities.
