The Catalyst - Student Newspaper: Published monthly, The Catalyst serves as both the voice of the Old Westbury student body and as a training ground for budding journalists. Old Westbury Campus Radio: With construction on a new studio beginning in Fall 2004, Old Westbury campus radio will offer students the opportunity to hone their technical and presentation skills while informing and entertaining the campus as a whole. The radio studio is located in Student Union. Web streaming of the new Old Westbury Campus Radio will be available soon. Check back here for details.

Did You Know?

Distinguished Service Professor of Mathematics, Jong Pil Lee, was awarded a 2005 Presidential Award for Excellence in Science, Mathematics and Engineering Mentoring during ceremonies held at The White House.

Among SUNY's comprehensive colleges, Old Westbury ranks among the highest in science and engineering funding to support competitive scientific research. Funding for research is provided by the U.S. Department of Energy, the National Institute of General Medical Sciences of the National Institutes of Health, the National Science Foundation and the New York State Department of Education.

35 Old Westbury students gave up their traditional Spring Break rituals in 2006 and instead volunteered their time and effort in New Orleans to aid recovery efforts in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina.
