The Accounting Society: All Accounting students are invited to join and participate in the Accounting Society, which holds frequent meetings covering topics of interest to accounting majors. Topics may include: resume writing, interview techniques, career path options, CPA exam preparation, etc. Representatives from all areas of accounting and business are invited guest speakers. This affords students an opportunity to gain practical knowledge and to network with experts in the field.

Seniors, Kacey-Ann Thompson and Emmanuel Konde of the Biological Sciences Department, earned recognition at the 14th annual New York State Collegiate Science and Technology Entry Program Conference.

More than 22% percent of Old Westbury's professors have earned among SUNY's highest honors - the rank of Distinguished Teaching Professor, Distinguished Service Professor or Chancellor's Award for Excellence in teaching and service.

Among SUNY's comprehensive colleges, Old Westbury ranks among the highest in science and engineering funding to support competitive scientific research. Funding for research is provided by the U.S. Department of Energy, the National Institute of General Medical Sciences of the National Institutes of Health, the National Science Foundation and the New York State Department of Education.
