The Office of Institutional Research and Assessment
is committed to the improvement of instructional effectiveness through the
assessment of teaching and learning,
the evaluation of educational practices and services, and the ongoing reporting
of evaluative data for institutional decision making and planning.
Reporting to the Vice President for Academic Affairs, the office's functions
include internal research support and external reporting. Internal research
support is provided for academic departments, faculty committees, and administrative
offices. Typical projects include surveying students, analysis of student transcript
data, admission research, and analysis of data collected by other offices.
The office also serves an advisory role for others conducting research about
the college.
External reporting includes providing data about the college to federal and
state agencies, to our accrediting agencies (Middle States Commission on Higher
Education) and to various college guidebooks.
