“Withdrawing
from a course” means
terminating your registration
in a course after the
Late Registration/Add/Drop
Period. A “W” grade
will be recorded on your
transcript.
When
you
want
to
discontinue
a
course,
you
need
to
take
a
formal
action
to
withdraw
from
the
class,
even
if
you
stop
attending
the
class
or
attended
it
only
once.
In
the second week to the
seventh week of the semester:
You
can withdraw from a course without
an instructor’s
permission by filling out a
Withdrawal Form and submitting
it to the Office of the Registrar.
There will be a non-refundable
processing fee of $20/transaction.
A “W” grade
will be recorded on your transcript.
Contact to your Financial Aid
Advisor or International Student
Advisor for approvals. You may
want to inform your instructor
that you are leaving the course
as a courtesy, but it’s
not required. At this point,
you cannot add any courses.
After
the seventh week of the
semester:
You
can withdraw from a course by
filling out a Withdrawal Form
and submitting it to the Office
of the Registrar. There will
be a non-refundable processing
fee of $20/transaction. You
are required to have your instructor
sign the form to drop the course
as well as to obtain a signature
from a Financial Aid Advisor
or the International Student
Advisor. A “W” grade
will be recorded on your transcript. There
is a deadline to withdraw from
a course each semester.

Under no circumstances will
a withdrawal be approved after
the deadline.
Things
to consider before you
withdraw from a course
As
much as we want our students
to succeed in each class,
sometimes withdrawing
from a course can be a
good option. Your instructor
will help to assess your
academic performance in
the course.
Here
are some things to
consider when you
think about withdrawing
from a course:
- impact
on your academic progress
- impact
on your G. P. A./academic
standing
- impact
on your financial aid
- impact
on your health insurance
coverage
- impact
on your visa status
- impact
on your eligibility
for on-campus housing
If
you need help to understand
the consequences of dropping
a particular class, please contact
your advisor.
